How to identify the quality of coated fabrics?
2024-05-19 10:29:27

With the development of modern production technology and the improvement of consumers' quality requirements, high-quality fabrics have become one of the more and more important factors in the fashion industry. The quality of the fabric is one of the important factors to determine the quality of a garment, and the coated fabric is particularly important, because it not only has a good feel appearance, but also protects the internal material, and increases the waterproof, windproof, anti-static and other functions of the fabric. So how to identify the quality of the coating fabric?

1. Appearance quality

The appearance of the coated fabric of good quality should be clean, flat, without obvious wrinkles or damage, and there should be no bubbles or obvious opacity affecting the overall appearance when it is checked in the sun. The coating should be flat and neat, without scratches, potholes or empty drums. At the same time, we also need to simulate the real experience by hand and conduct friction tests on the surface of the coating to observe whether the coating is worn, scratched or shed, and consider the fluff shedding on the back of the friction.

Second, insulation

A good coated fabric should have good thermal insulation and maintain a moderate body temperature in bad weather or environments to warm the body. We can use the way of observation, feeling and comparison to judge the insulation of fabrics.

Three, air permeability

Good coated fabrics are breathable and can release internal heat to avoid discomfort caused by heat accumulation or overheating. We can use our hands close to the fabric to feel whether the fabric breathability is good, and we can also test the water vapor permeability to rule out the smoothness and texture of the fabric to affect the breathability.

Four, waterproof

A good coated fabric should have good water resistance, encounter wind and rain, resist water seepage to a certain extent, and protect the internal material from infiltration. We can use underwater soaking, hydraulic testing and other methods to check the waterproof performance of the fabric, so as to prevent coating wear and water leakage.

Five, wear resistance

Good coated fabrics have good wear resistance, that is, the surface coating can be durable and is not easy to peel or fall off. We can carry out tensile tests to test the strength and crack resistance of the coating, and also carry out scratch and wear tests on the surface of the coating to test the sensitivity of the coating to external stimuli.

Six, antibacterial

Coated fabrics are easy to breed bacteria, so good coated fabrics should have good antibacterial properties to ensure a healthy and clean environment. We can perform microbial optimization tests, spot tests and other methods to evaluate the antibacterial properties of fabrics.

In short, a good coated fabric should have excellent appearance quality, thermal insulation, air permeability, water resistance, wear resistance and antibacterial properties, consumers can be tested and identified according to the above indicators when purchasing. With the continuous improvement of consumers' quality, manufacturers should also make more detailed and perfect work in the selection of coating materials, manufacturing and quality control to improve the quality and competitiveness of coated fabrics.
